About Me, Kuroneko

Subject of This Site?

This is the site of my financial records especially about FX for my wife and family.

Maybe I'm a typical Japanese person. I don't really talk about money with my wife or family, so in case I suddenly die, I'll leave as much information as possible on this site about how my funds are being managed.

I'm not going to die yet... I'm going to live a long life!

Through trial and error, I hope to grow myself by sharing information with everyone who is checking this site.

I am not sure if the information in this site is useful for non-Japanese people, but am trying to share as much as information I can in English.

Being a Member of Society ~ Semi-Retirement

I think I've been blessed with a company, but I'm not good at socializing, and I vaguely wanted to retire early when I became a member of society.

At that time, there was no word for FIRE, and I thought that it is just "leaving the company". But I wanted to quit the company and work loosely, and FIRE is more suitable word for what I wanted to do.

In order to quit the company, I started investment centered on FX, which I had been considering for a long time, from the end of March 2022.

Remote Work due to COVID-19 (Mar 2022 ~)

Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, I was able to work completely remotely from around March 2020, and it was a big deal that I had time to think about investment.

I understand that there are people who have had painful and sad experiences due to COVID-19, and I personally had a hard time.

However it was still a big turning point that remote work became easier.

By eliminating commuting time and being able to spend a little less than two hours a day, I began to think about the future and made a concrete plan for investment.

Remote work has the negative side of being able to work longer, but I think I was able to mange that well.

In the past, I used to trade stocks to some extent, but due to work and child-rearing, there was a long period of time when I didn't do anything, and it took a little courage to get involved in Forex.

While watching the market, I became more confident that the settings I had considered with reference to information from the predecessors would go well, and I started actual operation at the end of March 2022.

Now I wish I had started earlier! The sooner you start investing, the better.

Retirement Decision and Semi-Retirement (End of December, 2022)

At first, I thought that I would like to increase my investment income while earning salary income and retire from the company with ample time to spare, but I have reached the limit of working deceitfully.

It wasn't a bad company, and as an ordinary office worker, I got a good salary (as a Japanese, probably more than my ability), and there were many good people around me. So, in the same environment, some of pepole may continue work even if it requires patience a little.

The fact that I could see another way to live after starting FOREX may have spurred my decision to retire.

After passing the mid-40s, I decided to live as a sole proprietor rather than a company employee. (For the time being, I am considering it as a sole proprietorship, but I may consider incorporating it in the future depending on the income.)

I told the company that I will leave the company in late October.

I left the company at the end of 2022 and became independent from hte beggining of 2023.

I may not understand how hard it will be to live without the title of company employee in Japan.

At least there are various advantages when considering health insurance and long-term care insurance premiums shared by the company, welfare benefits, and retirement benefits (including corporate DC plans). There may be something more that I feel later.

However, even if I didn't retire myself, I would eventually retire, so I decided that it would be better to build an environment for living without belonging to a company earlier.

I am not advising company employees to resign. For those who can continue to work, it is overwhelmingly better to invest while earning salary income!

Why FOREX?

Personally, I have experience with stocks, and I never thought I would start investing with such a high proportion of FOREX.

In addition, I also had a somewhat dangerous image about FOREX.

I decided to start with operations centered on FOREX for the following reasons.

Reasons of Choosing FOREX

  • If you mainly use automatic trading, you can neglect operation
    • As long as the market fluctuation is within the assumed price range, you can just wait settlements.
  • Since it is a currency, it will not become waste unless the creditworthiness of the country falls sharply.
    • However, likethe Russian Ruble immediately after the invasion of Ukraine, a sharp decline is possible in the event of an emergency, so choose the currency pair you invest carefully.

However, there are some caveats.

Caveats about auto-FOREX

  • In automated trading, you may have many new positions with lots of unrealized losses sometimes right after starting the operation.
    • Let's endure. (However, if you think that the setting is wrong, you also need to stop loss early.)
  • When assuming range, you should have enough margin from the past range.
    • You can relax mentally. It is  It is better to think that unexpected price movements will occur.
  • Avoid loss cuts by investing enough funds and secure sufficient leeway by the setting
  • Be careful for extreme negative swap points
    • In automated trading, positions are often held for a long period of time. You don't want your losses to grow. I think it's okay to allow some negative swap points in terms of overall investment, but high negative swaps are not good mentally.
  • In the automated trading, you will hold many positions and unrealized losses, so it is difficult to stop in a short period of time.
    • Once you start, you need to be prepared to invest for the long term and operate with surplus funds.

Save your money for investment and use your surplus funds. Also, if you invest for the long term without overdoing it, such as applying excessive leverage, you can safely increase your assets.

You are responsible for your investment. Do it with surplus founds that you can lose in the worst case.
